Teves Clan Familytree of Negros Oriental

The Teves Genealogy was originally written in the 1970s both in Spanish and English by Doña Rosario Teves Vicente or “Lola Charing” as she was widely known. She was of the German V. Teves branch and the youngest of five children born of Gertrudis Bilbao Teves and Bruno Gomez Vicente. Married to Enrique Moras who was a prominent sugar trader in Negros and Spain, Doña Rosario was a noted historian of the Villegas/Vicente Clan.

Several years later, Serafin Miguel “Nito” D. Teves III produced an updated Teves family tree based on the original Moras version. A BSN and registered nurse from Silliman University, Nito is an established visual artist, son to former Bais Vice Mayor Serafin M. Teves Jr. and Ma. Luisa Carmen A. Diaz, and brother of newly elected Provincial Board Member, Miguel Angel D. Teves. Nito is married to Gisela Mariana T. Bobon with whom he has two children, Angeli and Serafin IV.

This Teves Genealogy 2nd update was put together by Arlene D. Pastor, incorporating extensive data contributed by Czarina T. Bonnevie Teves, Prof. Penn T. Larena Jr. MPA (SPUD),the late Negros Historian Josefa Villanueva Perez and Joseph (George) T. Rivera. Their contributions have greatly expanded the wealth of information in the Genealogy for which they deserve attention and credit, including the Pastor family, cousins and other relatives who supported this project.

One may say that the Teves Genealogy is a family treasure, a gift from our ancestors, and for some a work of art developed over a period of time. It is therefore, the hope that future generations will continue to keep and cherish the Teves heritage and legacy for years to come.

  1. Rafael,
May I ask which branch of the Teves Family Tree Victor Tenorio Teves and his brother Mariano Tenorio Teves (there were other siblings)should be placed? Since they were first cousins of Margarito "Titoy" Teves, therefore their father should be a brother of Doroteo. A number of Teveses will be grateful to you.

  5. In our Fiel Clan data base, there are many Fiel – Teves / Teves – Fiel that need to be documented.

Augustine Lucero Fiel, the son of the Fr. Felizardo Fiel, OP to Generosa Lucero, had the reputation in the entire Fiel history in the Philippines to be the greatest Fiel philanderer. He had seven wives under his belt. His fourth wife had the surname Teves.

CHILDREN OF AUGUSTINE LUCERO FIEL – ESTER TEVES (Roots: Dumaguete)
    1. Augustine Teves Fiel
    2. Pascual Teves Fiel
    3. Eustaquio Teves Fiel
    4. Agueda Teves Fiel

Another family line is found, however, in Ozamis. These are the names of the four Teves-Fiel siblings:
    1. Teodoro Teves Fiel
    2. Julita Teves Fiel
    3. Sancho Teves Fiel
    4. Honorata Teves Fiel

Also, in the Sauza Clan, a certain Doňa Veneranda “Andang” Fiel Sauza was married to Don Serafino Teves of Dumaguete City, Negros. Their children are the following:
    1. Fr. Vicente Sauza Teves
    2. Don Estefanio Sauza Teves who married Doña Hedilgarda Romero of Dumaguete City, Negros Occidental, Philippines

  6. It’s wonderful enough to have a pinch of their history…the story from the remnants ..a story of a family……who is memorizing the lines Teves Bato or Teves Sin and Teves nipa…It might sound depressing but still still I found it interesting….
As the remnants, we also inherit that sayings and as I may say, a very clear distinction not talking of discrimination about the division of being a Teves in Dumaguete City

    A pinch of history:

My grandmother Josefa Teves is the daughter of Manuel Teves and Agustina Teves, married to Calixto Bangaysiso Tañamor. Josefa Teves is the cousin of Lucena Teves Chua and Luisa Teves Remolano.
They have 4 children Iluminado Teves Tañamor, Gleceria T. Ausejo , Hugo and Lucia (deceased)
According to their share of story, our grandparents were lucky enough to have been given a share of 50.00 from their land in Dumaguete which was sold by their cousin Lolo Bendong Durano of Dumaguete City. And that 50P lead them to a certain brgy. to spend their lives and there the son and daughter of Josefa and Calixto live until now….For 50P they were brought up in that place, a place we start to love…live plainly and ordinarily..another pages of our story to be part of our own history…

…a shadow of story it may be, but still I love having a blood of Teves running in my veins, and that can't be denied..…. recognized or not…so be it…but history lives in my heart, blood runs in my veins….. :)

    According to me
    According to their story…
